Coastal International Shipping Line was established to serve an emerging trading area, with the belief that reliable, cost-effective maritime transport is the foundation of Africa's economic growth.

Our Journey

A decade
of building
trust at sea.

2013
CISL's maiden voyage, designation 01/13 A, departed on the 17th of July, proving that reliable and cost-effective feeder services could thrive along the East African coast.
2014
Expanded into technical ship management, overseeing engineering, general maintenance, dry dock supervision and crewing for regional operators.
2018
Grew our network to six active ports across three countries, connecting Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Tanga, Mutsamudu and Moroni through regular scheduled calls.
Today
Operating a fleet of four modern container-fitted vessels, connecting 11 ports through active and ad hoc calls, moving project cargoes, bulk commodities and all IMO-classified container cargo types, and still growing.

CISL has made tremendous strides as a leader in Eastern Africa shipping services. I can vividly remember initial consultations on the debut of M.V. CISL LEENE in 2013 and now looking at the growth over the years, to handling operations of a fleet of four vessels, at present. It has been a wonderful experience for me at CISL in terms of professional growth, formidable interaction with management and colleagues in providing shipping connectivity solutions to clients.
